Cromorfos y geometrías
An exploration of chromatic morphology
"Color is the place where our brain and the universe meet." Josef Albers
In Cromorfos y geometrías I bring together a body of work centred on the relationship between geometry and colour, or more precisely, on what happens when the two become inseparable.
The works are made using a hard-edge technique: there is no gesture, no accident. The line is deliberate, the plane is deliberate. What interests me is the clarity that emerges from this kind of restraint.
I work across different materials, cardboard, canvas, paper, and each carries its own character. Cardboard is humble and familiar, both light and fragile. Canvas has weight and permanence. Printed paper brings the image into the realm of the digital. Yet across all of them, the same question remains.
Colour here is not decorative. I understand it as form, something that can expand or contract a figure, bring a surface forward or push it back, create tension or resolution. Cromorfos (colour-forms) emerge from this investigation: what happens to a geometric form when colour becomes part of its structure rather than something applied on top.
This is a work about intensity and relation. About how colour and form activate one another, generating visual systems in which perception is in constant transformation.
